Introduction to Soft-Staking​

Skrice Studios introduces NFT Land Soft-Staking, an innovative solution designed for Land NFT owners. This unique staking method enables owners to earn rewards by staking their land without incurring gas fees or relinquishing control of their NFTs. Developed to address the community's need for a reward system free from high gas costs and restrictive lockup periods, soft-staking ensures you maintain possession and control of your NFTs directly in your wallet.

The Soft-Staking Process​

Step 1: Select Your Land NFTs for Staking​

Begin by choosing the Land NFTs you want to stake through the staking interface. This process is gas-free, allowing you to stake an unlimited number of Common, Rare, and Legendary Land NFTs owned by your wallet.

Step 2: Initiate the Stake​

Upon selection, you'll be presented with details of your stake, including duration and potential rewards. Click “Stake Now” to proceed.

Step 3: Confirm Your Stake & Whitelist Options​

A confirmation popup will appear, offering a final review and the option to whitelist a secondary address. By default, your connected account wallet is whitelisted and immutable.

  • Whitelisting a Second Wallet: You have the option to whitelist an additional wallet, such as a hardware wallet (e.g., Trezor or Ledger). This feature allows for the secure storage of your NFTs in a hardware wallet without interrupting your staking period. Transfers between whitelisted wallets do not affect your stake, whereas transferring to a non-whitelisted wallet will end the stake.

To finalize, you'll sign a transaction from your wallet, which approves the stake without any gas fees.

Step 4: Maintain Your Stake​

With the staking process complete, your role is simply to hold your Land NFTs in your whitelisted wallet(s). Your stake remains active as long as your NFTs stay within these wallets.

Soft-staking allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds: earning rewards while keeping your Land NFTs safe and accessible. Notably, soft-staked Land NFTs can still be used in the game upon its release.
